Hull Preservation Tape has a very aggressive adhesive on it that wont leave an adhesive residue (white and blue only), plus has UV inhibitors in the backing for long term usage. This allows this tape to be stuck directly to the hull and not leave an adhesive residue when removed. This is the tape to use to adhere the edges of your shrink wrap film to the hull for transport, to prevent air from getting underneath.
When applying preservation tape it should be cut, rather than ripped, so there is a smooth end that can be pressed down on the shrink wrap. The edges of the tape should also be pressed down firmly to eliminate loose edges where dirt and moisture can get under the tape and break the adhesion.
WARNING: Preservation tape, even though it won't leave a residue behind, is very strong and can take the top layer or finish off of wood or painted surfaces. Preservation tape should be applied to a small portion of the surface to check the results.
