Shrink Wrap Tape does not actually shrink. Shrink Wrap Tape is for repairing holes in the shrink wrap, for taping pleats, and for attaching zipper access doors after the shrink wrap film has been heat shrunk. When applied, it should be lightly heated to warm the adhesives if it is applied in cold or damp weather.
Warning: It will not accept much heat before melting, so a light warming works best. Also, when applying heat shrink tape, it should be cut, rather than ripped, so there is a smooth end that can be pressed down on the shrink wrap. The edges of the tape should also be pressed down firmly to eliminate loose edges where dirt and moisture can get under the tape and break the adhesion.
Warning: Shrink Wrap Tape does not have UV inhibitors, and therefore is NOT designed to be stuck to the boat hull or painted areas, as it will leave an adhesive residue.
