Shrink Wrap Tape does not actually shrink. Shrink Wrap Tape is for repairing holes in the shrink wrap, for taping pleats after shrinking, and for attaching shrink wrap doors after the shrink wrap has been heat shrunk. After applying shrink wrap tape in cold or damp weather, it should be lightly heated to warm the adhesives.
Warning: Shrink Wrap Tape will not accept much heat before melting, so a light warming works best. When applying Shrink Wrap Tape, it should be cut, rather than ripped, so there is a smooth edge that can be pressed down smoothly and firmly against the shrink wrap to eliminate loose edges where dirt and moisture can get under the tape and break the adhesion.
Warning: Shrink Wrap Tape does not have UV inhibitors, and therefore is NOT designed to be stuck to the boat hull or painted areas, as it will leave an adhesive residue. For those applications, use Hull Tape.
