6 mil thick Shrink Wrap is the minimum thickness and can work well as small boat shrink wrap (up to 19 foot boats in warmer climates). The 6 mil shrink wrap can hold up to 256 pounds per square foot.

7 mil thick Shrink Wrap is the standard for most boats, and is generally the minimum recommended thickness to use as boat shrink wrap (up to 40 foot boats) especially in snowy climates.

8 mil - 8.5 mil thick Shrink Wrap is the recommendation for use as big boat shrink wrap (40 foot or longer boats).

9 mil thick Shrink Wrap

10 mil Shrink Wrap is good for heavy duty shrink wrap applications, such as shrink wrapping large products for on deck ocean freight, and for covering odd shaped machinery for storage or transportation.

12 mil Shrink Wrap

Flame Retardant Shrink Wrap comes in 7 mil, 9 mil and 12 mil thicknesses.
